Art-making is for everyone.

I believe that art-making is a natural human impulse, and everyone should feel empowered to make their mark on the earth! My job as an art educator is not to tell my students what to make, but to set the stage and facilitate bringing their own vision to life. I provide skills, techniques, possibilities, and encouragement, and my students make the magic by creating their unique art!

All classes are held at my cozy studio in downtown Flagstaff, Arizona. It’s located at 115 E. Birch Ave. across the street from the historic courthouse with the clocktower!

 

My goal is to encourage and empower my students through skill-building and exploration in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I bring a lifetime of art experience, 10+ years of teaching experience, and incorporate a relaxed and joyful approach to artmaking!

  • Group Classes/Workshops

    I offer small group classes and workshops for Kids, Teens, and Adults. Class size is limited to 8 students. All skill levels are welcome! This Fall, all classes will cover drawing and painting and focus on skill-building in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

    You are always welcome to sign up for one session or multiple dates, and it’s ok to jump in in the middle of the semester.

    Price is $30-$35 per class meeting per student (supplies included). Registration is required at least 1 hour before the class, no walk-in's please, except for Open Studio. If needed, please cancel online 2 hours prior to class start time to be entitled to a refund or class credit.

    All classes happen at my studio in downtown Flagstaff, AZ at 115 E. Birch Ave. across from the historic courthouse with the clocktower. Paid street parking is available nearby, and free parking is available a few blocks to the north (towards the mountain).

  • Private Workshops

    Want to create a special memory with a group of friends or plan a unique date? I’m available to book private group workshops at my studio. We will work together to decide what kind of project you’d like to do, and I will provide all supplies, handle set-up, teaching, and clean-up. Maximum of 8 attendees. This can be a one-time 1- or 2-hour session. I am open to small birthday party lessons for teens with a max of 6 guests. I am not able to host party food, but the park across the street can work for cupcake time!

    Price: $30-45 per person, supplies included.

Watercolor on Wood (Sept 11, 12, Oct 16, 17, Nov 20, 21)

Meditative, satisfying, and beautiful! Step into the world of painting with watercolor on wood, using the woodgrain for inspiration. We'll practice on paper and learn some techniques first. All skill levels are always welcome! Don't worry too much about good or bad, let's explore and have some fun! All supplies are provided.

Beginning Drawing (Sept 18, 19, Oct 23, 24)

Learn an accessible way to approach still-life drawing that will get you creating in no time! We will also work on proportions and shading. Come as you are and build skills and confidence. Perfect for beginners or people looking to get their practice going again. Encouraging, empowering, and judgement free! All supplies are provided.

Printmaking (Oct 3, 30, Nov 7)

Learn easy techniques to make a block print and a monotype. No experience necessary, all skill levels welcome! All supplies are included. Come create in a judgement-free zone with fun and encouraging vibes!

Intuitive Acrylic Abstract (Sept 25, 26, Nov 13, 14)

Tap into your innate ability to make expressive marks and let your emotions flow! We'll do a series of warm-up exercises leading up to an abstract painting using acrylic paint on large canvas board. Perfect for beginners or people looking to get their practice going again. Encouraging, empowering, and judgement free! All supplies are provided.
